The Design Consultation:

The Design Consultation, is one of the alternative services offered by Interior designer, Megan Samuels for bungalow design. The Design Consultation offers custom-designed color choices and editing of existing furnishings and, if needed, suggestions of new pieces for spaces.

 Interior designer, Megan Samuels will come to your home, spend 2 hours walking through your home, learning how you ‘live’ in your space and uncovering what your personal ‘style’ is. She will give suggestions to help you, create your vision . You will be given a follow up email with a brief list of resources and  names of colors chosen for your space.

The Design Consultation is for prospective clients who don't really want or need bungalow design's full range of services at the time. Some may want to address only one or two rooms in their house, discussing the best colors for your space. Still others may want to do their own purchasing based on a design “master plan” for their rooms.

 Regardless of their different motives, all of these clients share a desire for a personalized design experience, want to be actively involved in the design process, and have an appreciation of the bungalow design aesthetic. Although this is an invaluable service for anyone, there is a nominal charge of $250.00.

what room-to-go is:

room-to-go is an alternative service from Megan Samuels Design for bungalow staging and design, which offers clients do-it-yourself custom-designed spaces at a reasonable fee.

who room-to-go is for:

Megan Samuels Design, provides several levels of design services depending on the clients needs or wants. room-to-go is for prospective clients who don't really want a full range of service but who would like the design expertise and aesthetic of a professional designer.

Some may want to address only one or two rooms in their house; and have a very limited budget; still others may want to do their own purchasing based on a design “master plan” for their rooms using the customized ‘guidance’ room-to-go provides for them.

Regardless of their different motives, all of these clients share a desire for a personalized design experience, want to be actively involved in the design process, and have an appreciation of the aesthetic of designer, Megan Samuels.

how is room-to-go done?

room-to-go is done through e-mail and ‘snail-mail’
correspondence. The client will measure the space (using the information provided on the ‘how to measure’ page) send us the measurements, any other useful information and jpg photographs of the room being designed.

After receiving this information, Megan Samuels Design, will design the space, research products, furnishings, fixtures, fabric choices, paint colors, draft a schematic floor plan and one elevation, put together a visual presentation board and a swatch book . The client will also receive a list of resources for these items and a written suggestion of how to put together the look. All of these items will be housed in a beautifully designed presentation box.

Now the client is free to pull together their room using the expertise of a seasoned designer while doing it at their own pace and budget. The client has the freedom to make changes on their own, adding or subtracting to the design.

how long does the process take?

After receiving the pertinent information, the design process begins taking between 4-6 weeks for completion.

how much is “room-to-go”?

dining rooms, bedrooms, home offices, bathrooms: $800
living rooms, kitchens and family rooms: $1100

With every job, we work very hard to satisfy each customer, designing a room in a way that we find corresponds with the client’s personal style, use of space and our aesthetic expertise. however, once a presentation is shipped, we are unable to re-design a presentation or refund design fees.
